Adams Basin Inn

Guest Rooms with Private Baths

As one of the oldest
inns and Bed and Breakfast in the area, our home has
welcomed guests to Adams Basin since the late
1800's. Nestled next to the historic towpath of the
Erie Canal, Adams Basin Inn is a delight to lovers
of antiques, exceptional food, and relaxation. The
Inn is a post and beam constructed building owned by
Marcus Adams and was the first mercantile business
in Adams Basin. Later, the Greek Revival north
portion of the house was added to make a fully
operational inn and tavern serving workers and
travelers on the Erie Canal. From 1890, The Michael
Ryan family owned and operated the Inn and tavern as
the Ryan House until 1916 when use of the canal was
on the decline.
