Posted by: leiuppa on Jun 17, 2005 - 09:58 PM
Listing - Bronze http://samandmary.org/

We offer historic and scenic cruises on the Erie Canal and the Genesee River in Upstate New York. Check out our daily cruise schedules or our private charters for more information about what Corn Hill Navigation has to offer!

Sam Patch Tour Boat

Cruise departs from Schoen Place in the historic Village of Pittsford. We begin by heading west on America's Erie Canal traveling just over a mile to Lock 32 at Clover Street.

Our transit through the Lock begins by entering the lock chamber from the low water side. We enter the Lock through the 40-ton lower gates, after we are inside the lock, the lower gates close and the chamber begins to fill with 3 million gallons of water allowing us to float up 25 feet. Once the chamber is full the upper gates open. We exit the chamber, turn around on the high water side, re-enter the lock and lock back down. We then cruise eastbound back to our dock in the Village.

Mary Jemison Tour Boat

We depart from the newly constructed Corn Hill Landing on Exchange Blvd in downtown Rochester. We begin by heading south, upstream, towards Genesee Valley Park. We head under the renovated Ford Street Bridge cruising past wonderful landscapes and enjoy a most unique vantage point. We travel past the University of Rochester until we get to the junction where the Erie Canal and Genesee River intersect at the Frederick Law Olmsted designed Genesee Valley Park. At the junction, we turn and return downstream towards Corn Hill affording a magnificent view of the Rochester City skyline.
